Days out

East Lothian is a wonderful base for exploring much of Scotland - there’s a lot to see within an hour or two’s drive. Here are some suggestions for a few day’s out:

Linlithgow - info about this historic town located to the west of Edinburgh
Stirling - great site about Stirling and surrounding areas, not to mention information about other places to visit further afield.
New Lanark - fully-restored 18th Century cotton mill and village
St Andrews - this ancient city is in the North East Neuk of Fife, about ninety minutes’ leisurely drive from Edinburgh. Please visit - it’s wonderful! And there’s LOTS of golf...
St Abbs - another picturesque fishing village, a little way down the east coast
